Applying for Financial Aid

Tip: If you can, you should use FAFSA on the Web because if you file electronically, the software immediately identifies potential errors and allows for on-the-spot correction. Plus, once you transmit it, your information goes right into the US Department of Education’s Central Processing System (CPS). The CPS will process your application in one to five days, provided you (and your parents, if applicable) have provided a valid PIN.

Applying for federal financial aid is easy and it is FREE. All you have to do is complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You can apply electronically from any computer with access to the Internet. If you want or need to use a paper form, they are available in English or Spanish from your local library, high school, college or trade schools or from the Federal Student Aid Information Center:
